Talking Albums is a series created by John McDonald, where musicians share six albums that shaped their lives and creative journeys — from first records to timeless favourites. Born during lockdown as a way to stay connected through music, the series has since grown into a video project featuring artists from everywhere.


Talking Albums, in collaboration with The Record Centre and Apt613, turns the spotlight on Ottawa-region musicians.You’ll find their stories and sounds on Apt613’s YouTube channel, celebrating local talent, community, and the music that brings us together.

And what music were they listening to?These Talking Albums articles appeared on apt613.ca.Now, I'm collaborating with apt613 again, as well as The Record Centre. Talking Albums episodes by Ottawa area musicians (individuals or bands) will be posted on the apt613 YouTube channel.If you'd like to tell more people about you and your music, consider doing an episode.You’ll video yourself on your phone / camera (in landscape) and :1) Introduce yourself and your music.
