Coming in April Talking Albums on the new CITW Radio in Helsinki, Finland.Talking Albums is about music and stories. On each episode, host John McDonald sits down with a musical friend to chat about their music and records that mean something special to them. Along the way, John dips into his own collection to share some of his favourites. It’s a bit of a musical safari, really—wandering through jazz, blues, pop, and even a little drone—so you never know what you’ll discover next.
During lockdown, I started wondering what my musician friends were up to and what they were listening to. So I asked. That’s how Talking Albums began — musicians talking about themselves, their music, and six favourite albums.
Electronic DJ and synth artist Auchtorok is the latest musician to be talking albums on our YouTube channel.
In collaboration with The Record Centre and Apt613, Talking Albums turns the spotlight on local Ottawa musicians.Blending elements of dream folk, ambient pop, and mystic wonderment, Allie (Jasmine Trails) has been said to “create languid melancholic soundscapes” that are rooted in storytelling and elevated by atmospheric production.
